Thanks for stopping by Steve.

I agree. I want every site that collects my information to greet me with

"Hello, Marc A Ohmann. We have recommendations for you. (Not Marc?)"

But I guess I have been spoiled by Amazon. Certainly everyone can't do it as well as they do.
One could argue the privacy point but they are collecting the data anyhow, they might as well use it to make life easier.

I blame Amazon. I blame Amazon and Google and FedEx and VMware and all those other web sites that do a great job of remembering who I am and how I am interacting with them at any point in time.

Customers are now expecting that any company they do business with will give the same great service as Amazon and Google, and they are annoyed and inconvenienced when sites don't remember who they are and what they've already said about themselves.

Of course, it's ironic that this happened in a webcast from a CRM company (one that does a great job of marketing, by the way), and especially so that they were talking about the "Google era." I suspect the webinar service provider was really the culprit in requiring you to submit your info over and over again.

But it's interesting that our expectations now are so much higher than ever before for customer service on the web.

Good observation.

There's also quantcast and aboutus which mainly has links to the sites mentioned above.

There's also stopbadware.org and siteadvisor for phishing/malware advisory services.

I found this through toprankblog.com.
